About Me

I was born in Japan, a happenstance that stems from the fact that I am a military brat. In addition to Japan, my childhood was spent in Pennsylvania, California, Washington (the state), and Kentucky. We also spent short periods of time in North Carolina and New Jersey. Lexington, KY became my home after leaving for college. I have now lived here longer than anywhere else.

The transient nature of my childhood has shaped much of the content I explore within my artistic work. I am particularly interested in how community and human interaction affects a person's sense of place and belonging as well as issues surrounding memory, childhood, and nostalgia. I often find myself striving to increase my own interactions with others through my artistic process which is why much of my work involves participation.
